Chestnut Class

In Chestnut Class we are learning some of our subjects through the historical theme of The Victorians. The children have designed questions they would like to investigate in History, such as:

  • What were Victorian schools like?
  • What did The Victorians eat and drink?
  • What types of clothes did they wear?

In Literacy we are looking at stories from historical settings and have read Convict by Julia Jarman and Oliver Twist, so far.

During Art we are using William Morris as inspiration. Here are the children working on a William Morris Sketch in the environmental area.

This will then be made into a clay tile.

Through ICT we are learning how to present information about The Victorians for an audience.

We are continuing our Numeracy, Science, P.E, R.E, Music and P.S.H.E learning as stand-alone subjects.
