In Acorns this week we have been thinking about things that are manmade and things that are natural. We decided that things that are manmade are things we find in shops and things we find in our garden or on the beach are natural. |
We have been learning about colours and what colours made us feel hot or cold. We used these colours to create these 2 pieces of abstract art. |

We have been learning about pirates. We have talked about the types of food and drink and the work that being a pirate would involve. We have also learnt about Edward Teach - "Blackbeard" one of the most famous of pirates. |
During last half term we have been learning about our senses and how important they all are. We created a Texture Wall and we talked about the materials we used and how they felt. We told Mrs Shelford the descriptive words we thought of and she wrote them down for us. |

We read the story of the Rainbow Fish and made our own under the sea display with the help of Miss Gaynor. We made a back display by finger painting seaweed and we cut out some sea animals. We also used material to create the sea and tissue paper to make the seaweed that lives in the sea. we used Mrs Shelfords chair to make a throne for the mermaid king. |
We have been learning about different types of bears and we have been reading different stories about and the trouble they get into! We have created our own teddy bears picnic and Miss Gordon helped us do the picnic mat and she showed us how to weave and scrunch up tissue paper to make a furry coat for the bears. we have created what we think is a great display. we like our polar bear flying his kite in the sky. |
